Sioux’s Model SF-50 low pressure steam generator is now certified for operation in the low NOx district of California. The South Coast Air Quality Management District (South Coast AQMD) has approved and certified the Sioux SF-50LN subject to Rule 1146.2 - Emissions of Oxides of Nitrogen from Large Water Heaters and Small Boilers and Process Heaters, to comply with 20 ppm@ 3% 02 or 14 ng/J NOx emission limit.
This certification is the culmination of years of engineering design and work with the South Coast Air Quality Management District to manufacture a larger Steam-Flo® steam generator that performs to Sioux’s high quality and performance standards while also meeting the low NOx requirements of Southern California. Sioux now offers two models of steam generators that meet these requirements, models SF15-LN and SF-50LN.
Mark Wegner, Sioux Director of Engineering, says: “We utilized the latest in burner controls and fiber mesh combustion technology to ensure the new SF-50 Low NOx exceeds the most stringent emissions requirements in the United States. This has been accomplished without sacrificing the Sioux Steam Flo’s proven performance, ease of use, and rugged reliability.”
