Urea Blending Solutions
Automotive grade urea is used to manufacture Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF). The DEF is used with the Selective Catalytic Reduction system found in diesel powered vehicles to reduce harmful emissions into the atmosphere. The solid form of urea, called prills, is usually transported by rail tank car and requires a specific temperature to be unloaded from the cars. These urea prills are then combined with deionized water. Due to the endothermic reaction of urea in water, the deionized water must be heated using diesel exhaust fluid heaters to a specific temperature before combining with the Urea to make DEF.
Liquid Fertilizer
Industrial urea is a great fertilizer for putting nitrogen back into the soil for plant production. Urea for fertilizer is produced with ammonia and carbon dioxide. Urea contains almost 50% nitrogen and is very stable to transport and handle. To produce liquid fertilizer from urea, water is heated to a specific temperature before mixing with the urea.
