Reduce Water Usage
Sioux Steam-Flo Steam Generators are commonly used for heating rail tank cars. Sioux offers a portable Condensate Return System to be connected to our trailer or stationary mounted Steam-Flo Steam Generators during the rail tank car heating process. The system captures and recycles all the condensate/water to create a closed-loop system.
-
- Increase overall system efficiency
- Save time and water - refilling water tank will be reduced for portable applications
- Prevent condensate from creating mud or ice under the railcar
- Drastically reduce scale buildup inside the steam generator
To operate the system, a condensate manifold with a steam trap is connected to the railcar, the condensate drains into a stainless steel water tank by gravity, and then a pump connected the tank, once activated by level switches in the tank, pumps the condensate directly back into the Steam-Flo Steam Generator. The pump is TEFC and all components are water tight designed for use outdoors. The Condensate Return System is also compatible with other boilers.
Depending on the individual requirements, Sioux offers both the SA25862 (1-1/4" with 2,000 lbs/hr capacity) condensate manifold or the SA22698 (1-1/2" 6,600 lbs/hr capacity) condensate manifold for use with the CR4000 tank and condensate pump. Either an AC00861 (1/2" x 25'), AC00862 (1/2" x 50'), or AC00863 (1/2" x 100') hose is required for each manifold used to connect the manifold(s) to the condensate tank via quick couple connections.
